SUMMARY:Owen Grooms Presents Jackson Grimm and Potluck
DESCRIPTION:Jackson Grimm marries folk pop melodies with the lonesome sound of traditional Appalachian music. In a region with a strong music culture\, it is no surprise that Grimm’s songwriting is representative of his musical birthplace: Asheville\, NC. His songs run the gambit from an homage to a traditional country waltz in “If Not For You”\, an unrequited love song driven by a Beatles-esque melody in “I’d Hold You (But I Don’t Wanna Hold You)”\, to a drunken partygrass song à la Old Crow Medicine Show in “Last Train Home”. \nGrimm lives in Asheville\, North Carolina\, and can be found playing solo or around Western North Carolina with bluegrass band\, The Bull Moose Party. The band is also the band on Grimm’s latest album by the same name\, “The Bull Moose Party” \nGrimm studied Traditional Music at Warren Wilson College under the tutelage of great players like Wayne Erbsen and Kevin Kehrberg. He also studied guitar\, banjo\, mandolin\, and singing with the Western North Carolina music master\, Josh Goforth. Josh was the obvious choice when it came to finding a producer for Jackson’s latest album. \nGrimm also plays extensively as a sideman for his father\, singer-songwriter Tim Grimm. Touring with Tim has taken him to over 20 states in the US and 7 countries in Europe (Netherlands\, Germany\, Italy\, Ireland\, Scotland\, Wales\, & England). He has appeared on\, written songs on\, and co-produced the last two Tim Grimm albums. Jackson has also shared the stage and played with singer-songwriters Ben Bedford\, Krista Detor\, and Jennie DeVoe.

SUMMARY:Owen Grooms Presents Charlie McDaniel and Potluck
DESCRIPTION:Charlie is a self-taught guitarist and singer from Shingle Hollow\, North Carolina. Raised on a 100-acre family farm\, his musical roots run deep in Bluegrass tradition. He began performing in a family band at age 15 before moving to Greenville around 1990. Charlie’s influences span a wide musical landscape—from Flatt & Scruggs and New Grass Revival to the Grateful Dead\, Darrell Scott\, Acoustic Syndicate\, and Widespread Panic. \nHe recently celebrated 50 years of band music\, along with 40 years on the bus. \nHickory Flat\, his family band had 2 top 10 finishes at SPGMA International Band contest\, as well as playing on the festival circuit in the late 80’s. \nAfter moving to Greenville\, he hooked up with Gene Dillard at The Handlebar Bluegrass jam and  helped host the jam for several years. He then formed West End String Band\, with his wife Kathy and Jim Rollins\, which eventually turned to a 5 piece with Matt Purinton and Brian VanAntwerp. They played regionally for around 15 years\, losing Jim to a car accident in 2018\, a travesty to the band. They were quite  the favorites at local festivals and events. \nPresently he and Brian VanAntwerp perform as West End Strings and can be heard locally around Greenville
