It is hard to believe we have been offering the Canteen to the community for 6 years now.  We became an employee-owned cooperative over 2 years ago and as of April 29th we now have our 4th employee-owner.  Please welcome Tod Schmidt to the employee-ownership team of Owen Grooms, Kim Coram and John Wiseman.  We are so excited to have another employee join our employee-ownership team!  Thanks Tod for joining.

As part of this transition we have also taken this opportunity to change our name.  We use to officially be the Cedar Mountain Canteen Bier Garden.  We are now officially the Cedar Mountain Canteen Public House & Appalachian Cultural Center!  We are deeply rooted in Appalachian culture and we look forward to bringing more focus on the gifts this region shares.

We are hosting a celebration of these changes on May 23rd while we host the Junior Appalachian Musicians fundraiser, beverage tastings, live music and dance lessons.  We look forward to celebrating together and are deeply grateful for your love and support over the years.
