Today, I joined John at Sherwood Golf Course on Route 276 (at 29 Cardinal Rd, Brevard, NC) while he golfed. I have played in the past but today I was just up for a walk. It is a beautiful course and I enjoyed walking it with him. The residents of Sherwood Forest keep this course available and open to the public. It is an amazing gift to the community. The course is an Audubon course and that is demonstrated in numerous ways.

Buffers along the Little River are protected. The buffers are so important for stream health and it is wonderful to see these areas set aside and protected. Honoring these areas is one way we can thank the residents for their gift of sharing the course with the community. It is little to ask in exchange for access to their community. Thank you Sherwood Forest community!

We walked the back 9 holes. It ended up being 1.32 miles. I was looking for lost balls so I may have added a little bit of distance. I am working on building bone density so I wore an 8 pound weighted vest. I was ready to take it off after the walk. It is comfortable for the most part though.
We are in a drought and yet we still have beautiful water flowing through our community. What an amazing place we live in.
