Join us for an evening of acoustic music with three great acts- Ray Adams, Anna Bree and Owen Grooms, Paddle Faster and The Graybeards- as we raise funds to continue to provide music at no cost to our community. Each act will play a set and then play as a supergroup at the end.

Kicking off the evening will be Ray Adams and Anna Bree joined by Owen Grooms on mandolin. Ray and Anna Bree perform music of historical relevance to southern Appalachia at small venues and events in the Brevard area. This is the musical style many call “early country” music recorded from the late 1920’s through the 1950’s. When they perform here at Cedar Mountain Canteen on June 27, our guests will enjoy simple meaningful songs originally sung by the Carter Family, Ola Belle Reed, Jean Ritchie and many others from days gone by.

Graybeards

Next up will be The Graybeards. Their sound draws from folk-blues and rock traditions while leaving room for a personal voice that feels lived-in, direct, and unmistakably human.

Together they learned music and performance as a teenagers and young adults in New York City. Rob later transitioned to folk, old time and blues while living in the Appalachian Mtns. of Virginia performing at coffeehouses, universities and small concerts. Larry played and recorded with several contemporary rock and soul bands in New York City and Florida.

Their presentations reflect an appreciation for the diverse musical styles found in America today. They combine their musical talents with a storytelling element and celebrate the joy and grace of a shared experience.

Paddle Faster is an acoustic duo playing Bluegrass, traditional country, and Americana music, based in Hendersonville, NC area. Great harmony singing built around Karen’s banjo and Scott on guitar, electric guitar and mandolin. Always a great time!

Stick around until the end for a supergroup with musicians from all acts playing together!
