Born and raised in and around Brevard, NC, Mark Queen is a 5th generation mountain musician, bluegrass guitar player, and local legend. Mark grew up playing with his family, which hails from the Caney Fork area of Jackson County. Most of Mark’s family played or sang old time mountain music, including his grandmother, Mary Jane Queen, who was a famous ballad singer and was awarded the National Heritage Fellowship in 2007. Mark plays with several groups around the area, and has a musical residency every weekend throughout the growing season at Jeter Mountain Farm.

We will be hosting a potluck dinner this evening. Please bring a non-disposable place setting and a covered dish. If you don’t have food to bring for any reason, we are happy to feed you.
