Scott Ritter and Karen Batten, together known as Paddle Faster, have provided a blend of acoustic Bluegrass, Americana and traditional Country music for 10 years. They have played in the area as a duo and in different groups and genres.
Karen learned to play banjo in the Shenandoah Vallley of Virginia. She conveys her love of all music, with a particular favor to the hard driving Bluegrass tunes, but incorporates her classical piano background in the melodies and sweeter songs. A harmony singing church background comes through in the vocals.
Scott Ritter brings years of experience playing music, starting in his home state of New Jersey. His tasteful and skilled guitar and mandolin work has entertained folks for decades. His love of meaningful lyrics and great songs from great writers keeps the song selection fresh and interesting.
Together, they bring a variety of enjoyable music, sure to entertain, lift your spirits, and make your toes tap.
These fine folks also lead our weekly Song Swap on Thursdays from 6-8pm. Always a great time!
