Brian VanAntwerp lives in Greenville, South Carolina. He graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in Music Education. Brian currently teaches music publicly and privately. You can catch Brian playing around with several bands including Pretty Little Goat, Timberdoodle, and West End Strings. In addition to music, he likes to be on the water, forage, and cook.
I am excited and grateful to release a children’s album: Songs for Kids (Suitable for All). I was lucky to include friends and students in the whole process: recording, playing, singing, and album artwork. Inspired by American folk traditions, song selection combines the new and old. Included are student (and teacher) favorites that pay homage to educators, musicians, and history. Designed for family and friends, please sing along with your loved ones in the car or hum in the kitchen before a shared meal.
Brian and Friends will perform the album in its entirety, and then Timberdoodle (Brian, JT Linville on upright bass, and Owen on banjo) will play the second set full of groovy old time tunes, rollicking traditional songs, and Brian’s originals.
