We have opened a pop-up hand-dipped ice cream parlor! It is currently set up in our future music hall while we finish putting together the bakery and ice cream parlor. It will be open during Canteen hours, for now.

Kim’s great-grandparents immigrated from Lebanon and opened an ice-cream factory in Jackson, Ohio. It was a highlight of her childhood and being behind an ice-cream counter again brings back so many fond and joyful memories. She is excited to share that joy!

So many people have asked what ice cream we are serving. We are really excited to share! We are serving Artesana Ice Cream from Marion, NC. Delicious, wholesome and local!

We currently have 8 dariy flavors, 1 no sugar added flavor and 3 dairy-free options. Come on by! We are excited to share. Bring your own bowl and spoon and save!

Here is a description from Artesana about their treats:

Our Story
Artesana Creamery & Cafe began as Artesana Ice Cream, opening its doors on Main Street in Marion NC on July 4th 2018. Our recipes are the result of three generations and more than 70 years of family ice cream making influenced by our founders’ Mexican and Italian heritage. All of Artesana’s ice cream is small-batch and hand-made in our production facility, which adjoins our ice cream parlor, in downtown Marion. Our ice cream, available both hand-dipped and in cups and pints, can be found at dozens of locations across Western North Carolina and Upstate South Carolina.

Our Ice Cream
Our proprietary ice cream base is FDA-approved, contains no high-fructose corn syrup or preservatives, and is gluten-free and trans-fat free. One of the reasons for our ice cream’s unique taste and extra creamy texture is our use of honey in all of our traditional ice cream flavors. The use of honey also allows for less sugar and dextrose, resulting in a lower-glycemic product.

In addition to traditional dairy ice cream, we also produce non-dairy ice cream made with various plant milks, vegan ice cream containing no honey, sugar-free ice cream, and a variety of vegan sorbets. We use natural flavorings and colorings whenever possible (upwards of 90% of our product offerings), and are working toward the goal of zero artificial ingredients by 2027.
