Welcome Black History Month!

.

Now more than ever we must defend the right to freedom of speech and stand in solidarity with the people in Minnesota protesting and risking their lives to demand justice. The Canteen, like the United States itself, is a community enriched by its global citizens, and we refuse to let the flames of division threaten the civil liberties that are meant to protect us all. We extend our deepest condolences to the families of Alex Pretti and Renee Good, just as our thoughts remain focused on the safety and well-being of all members of our community.” Adapted from a statement from the National Basketball Players Association

Thank you to our wonderful community.  We have been told that we have a reputation of being a place where folks listen while our performers perform.  As a result, we have been approached by Richard Hardy who has asked if he can coordinate music on Thursdays.  He performed with Owen recently and enjoyed your attention so much he wants to play on a regular basis.  We said sure!

We have jazz on Thursdays from 2 – 4 pm and that will be moving to Fridays as of August 12.  Jason was planning to wrap the series up when he started teaching again but we all agreed to continue his amazing afternoons of music so look for his new slate of shows.  We look forward to enjoying more shows.

Lillie Syracuse is continuing her Saturday evening shows from 7 – 9 pm.  Owen Grooms shows continue every Monday from 6 – 8 pm.  Phil McGlynn continues to lead our mountain music jam on Sundays from 3 – 5 pm.

We have some special shows coming in September and October as well.

Thank you for your support and loving respect of those who share their talents with us.
