Chrysalis is an acoustic string trio of sisters and a brother outta Brevard, NC; Jenn on guitar, Jonlyn on fiddle, and JT on upright bass. We grew up making music as a family- starting with humming and dancing a long as our parents played and sang. As we grew older we each found our individual voices and instruments. We were never forced or pushed by our parents to play, it just came naturally and the love of music lives on in our hearts! Although we call ourselves a trio we hear our parents and two older sisters harmonies in our hearts and minds every time the three of us play! We are thrilled when they can join us!

Why “Chrysalis”? “chrys·a·lis ˈkrisələs/ noun a quiescent insect pupa, especially of a butterfly or moth. a preparatory or transitional state.”

As kids who grew up running barefoot through the woods, playing in the cold creeks and working in the garden; we hold the natural world close to our hearts! We named our group Chrysalis as a way to begin conversations about the importance of planting milkweeds and nectar flowers for monarch butterflies.
