Ray Adams is best known for performing music of historical relevance to southern Appalachia. He is also a local leader of weekly mountain music “jam” sessions where musicians come together to play traditional mountain music as an informal group setting. Ray enjoys what many call “early” country music which is the style of the original Carter Family, Ola Belle Reed, Jimmie Rodgers, Jean Ritchey, Wilburn Brothers, and Molly O’Day who were recorded from the late 1920’s through the 1950’s. So, that is in essence the style of music you will hear when he performs at the Cedar Mountain Canteen. Haley Beaupre will be joining Ray and Owen for the April 28th show. Haley has been in the mountain music scene for many years. She has a great ear for the music, and not only can she provide rock solid rhythm accompaniment, but she also has a wonderful voice that enables her to sing and harmonize beautifully. Ray and Haley perform at small venues and events in the Brevard area, and it is obvious they have a lot of fun and enjoy captivating their audiences with tasteful tunes, songs, melodies, and harmonies.
