Welcome to the Cedar Mountain Canteen
We are a zero-waste, employee-owned public house & listening venue located at the gateway of DuPont State Forest in Cedar Mountain, NC. We are a family-friendly, pet-friendly (all dogs on leash please) public home on the Little River.
We have a variety of beverages including draft beer, wine and cider, and packaged alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages (over 150 in our bottle shop.)
We host music 5 days a week and community potlucks most Thursdays and Mondays.
We strive to be a waste-free facility. We ask that you pack in what you bring and to be prepared to take your pet waste with you as well. We encourage folks to bring their own glasses and if joining a potluck we ask you bring your own reusable place setting. We always have some available if you need them and are happy to share.
We have access to the Little River and it is a wonderful spot to cool off.
We welcome all! We celebrate diversity and are always looking for ways to bring more of it to our public home and garden. We welcome you and look forward to seeing you walk through the door.
We are living-wage certified.

We have a large variety of non-alcoholic beverages. We are always looking for new, interesting beverages and the market continues to provide a fun selection.
My current favorite in DRAM’s Mushroom Cola. It has no sugar, no calories and is good for you. It says it is good for brain health. …

Because you bring your own glass, we have donated thousands. Thank you
From the moment we opened, we have asked patrons to bring their own glass. It is a way to promote reuse and it is fun to see the variety of vessels that folks bring. As more and more of you participated, we wanted to find a way to thank the …
Our Pop-Up Farm Stand is coming back and is starting on Memorial Day

We have food to give away thanks to a donation from a local food pantry. Free to everyone!
Did you know we get regular donations from local food pantries so that we can distribute to the community? We just received cases of dried beans and would love to get them into the community. They are free to everyone. We have community potlucks and sometimes folks prepare these donations …
DONE! Thanks everyone!! Let’s send Haden to Fiddle Camp! She received a partial scholarship. Let’s make up the rest!
Well that didn’t take long! Haden is going to camp! Thanks to everyone for loving her so dearly!
Haden has been a part of the Canteen’s music scene since it started. It has been amazing to watch her grow into a teenager and to watch her grow in her music craft. …
