I know as a civilization we are too advanced to create trash. We create items specifically to be thrown away. Why?
The Cedar Mountain Canteen co-op is a zero-waste business. We seek out companies and products that have figured out ways to keep their products out of our landfill. Late July Chips were taking responsibility for their wrappers by partnering with Terracycle. Terracycle turned them into something else. Unfortunately that partnership has been discontinued and we will not replunish our supply.
GoMacro bars, which we also sell, still have a relationship with Terracycle and we still offer them and have expanded our selection.
We are researching snacks that have packaging that doesn’t end up in our landfill. If you know of any, especially local, we would love to hear from you.
